Edit Tags vs Tag Manager

Has anyone else found that the drop down “Edit Tags” option from right clicking a point in navigation is not reliable? At least in my case when making an Ad Hoc string tag and after saving, closing, and reopening the “Edit Tag” screen, find that it pretty regularly comes up as Marker insted of the string tag I saved? I find the Tag Manager to work flawlessly comparitively and am wondering if it’s a me thing or??? Thanks for any input.

Can’t say I’ve noticed this but I’m going to try!

it seems that when I create them in the “tag manager”, they can be edited with “Edit Tags” which makes sense, but following instructions to create them in the “Edit Tags” screen has not been met with 100% accuracy. I’ll post some screen shots tomorrow to make clearer.

Still working on finding a solid example of this…of course now that I’m trying to make it happen, it’s elusive!

What is an ad-hoc string tag that you’re adding?

I was only using the “ad hoc” tags for the hierarchy challenge, added in the “tag manager” Like t:universe, t:character, etc. I was actually just using string tags already in the Niagara set in another training exercise. It was really strange as I would have to input the string tag a second time, and then the second one would remain after going out of the “edit tags” view. I’m just using the the “tag manager” to work with points, now, as it seems more reliable. It really seems to be a “me” problem!

So those wouldn’t be string tags unless you wanted add additional text. Those would be marker tags in the fact that’s just marking something. Using something to make a state/city/area would allow you add a string.
