Options for showing BQL information in PX files

Hey all, found this place on reddit, and I’ve got a quick question on presenting BQL data in graphics. Use case is showing data from VAVs within a certain zone, AHU overviews, etc.

I have an issue with the bound table option in that my right-click functionality on points within bound tables is not available when looking at the graphic in browser mode. No issue at all when in workbench mode.

This leaves me with two questions:

  1. Is this an issue anyone knows about or how to fix?
  2. Is there an overall better option for serving up BQL data on a gaphic?

Thanks for reading

Do you mean a BQL grid? I didn’t think BQL grids gave you the functionally of overriding but component grids do. That should work whether on workbench or the web. I’ll double check that when I walk upstairs to my office.

Hey Charles,

I am using component grids to give zone overviews. Its a retrofit and we are not (yet anyway) providing floorplans, and I’d like to use them to make Cx a little easier when we get there, as well as providing operators easy access to setpoints.

Have tested this in browser preview mode, as well as firefox and chrome.

Cheers

let me check the grid after this meeting. Afterwards, we could do what you want using PX Includes and Variable ORDs

Thanks Charles. I use variable ords pretty often for bound labels etc., was trying to avoid building more stuff. Individual unit graphics have setpoints on them, so it isn’t the end of the world.

But if you have time I wouldn’t mind seeing your approach to that solution.

So I have component grids and I went to the web browser and I was able to right click on my writable objects and see them.

What workbench version are you using? In addition did you bring it at a WB media or UX media or are you referring to the grid itself?

@Charles_Johnson I’m on distech flavored 4.13 running on windows server 2022.

Based on your question, I went in and changed it from the original wb media to both hx and uxbuilder as a test, and still the same problem. That said my understanding of the various media types are a little lacking.

An interesting wrinkle is that right clicking on the device name, gives me the full options when I right click, as well as hyperlinking to the top view.

Throwing some screenshots into the post, including the slot sheet and property sheet for the folder, a snip of the grid itself, the widgets I’m using, and the property sheet for the grid.

Do you have time for a teamviewer session? DM me. I think the issue is you put it into a PX page. I go to the grid directly. I’ll test it on there.

I think this calls for a tutorial on using query for component grids! Much more effective than adding each row manually. I’ll knock something up!

100% agree. I don’t mind building out grids with includes and variable ords but I’d prefer to leverage the inbuilt stuff

Talked to Charles and think my problem may be a workbench issue but who knows I’ll see what distech says.

No problem believing it’s some stupid windows problem.

@Giantsbane, I tested it on my workbench and it works fine. His workbench… not so much.

Simple suggestion for what it’s worth, have you tried reinstalling the workbench?

Hey sometimes simple suggestions are good suggestions haha

But yes, I’ve tried it on different machines with no luck, with both live and stale data, etc. etc.

Since last night, I’ve made a simple grid on another station and it is an identical issue.

Only thing I haven’t done is try it on a different flavor of Niagara. So for now I will kick it up to Distech. I’ll update the thread if I learn anything, thanks for the help all.

I ran the station on my localhost using EC-Net 4.14, and everything works as expected.

I will update the server in the wee hours of the morning, but I expect the same result

Glad I checked before emailing Distech :upside_down_face:

@Charles_Johnson I appreciate you going out of your way to assist!
