Tridium Niagara 24VAC/DC power

at the first position of the device, in next of the wall-mount AC power adapter, we have a 24VAC/DC power

is this just for on the tridium niagara jace or we can use that to on our modules?
for example make that output power and on the LED

You can splice the wires from a wall adapter and power the NRIO. Are you talking about NRIO modules or something else?

Hmmmm… I’m not sure if I understand. Are you just referring to the outlet you plug the adapter in? That would be 120VAC. The wall plug that can power a JACE is 24VDC. I would not use that.

If you want to turn on a light, it’s going to depend on that light and model. You’ll more than likely need a relay off an IO somewhere.

That’s going to depend on the light. However, to isolate volates (the true intent of a relay) that would always be best.

For example, if the light were 120 VAC, you could use a RIB1UC or a RH1BUAC24V to control the light

The wiring would look like this:

So this brings the 24VAC into the common of D1 and D2. The D1 terminal (output) goes to one side of the coil of the relay. Then the other side goes to the common of your 24VAC source.

When whatever hot (here I used 120VAC) would go into the common of the relay, and the NO Contact gets put on one side of the light. Then the Neutral on the other side.

Regardless of voltage, it’s always good to isolate the sources.

Considering that I purchased the RIB21CDC relay, can I communicate with the device and turn on the lamp via BACnet protocol using this relay, like the circuit you drew?
If the answer is no, please introduce me to a 24V relay that I can use to turn on the lamp via BACnet according to the circuit. Because the lamp I purchased is 24V.

To my knowledge, that RIB won’t work. You would need their BACnet relay to do that. That RIB (Short for Relay in a Box), I believe has a coil voltage of 120V.

You would want a RIBTW for your BACnet Relay from Functional Devices. That comes in MS/TP and IP Flavors. They also use 24VAC to power those up. However that will need to be a separate power supply since those are full wave devices.

Yes. You can connect BACnet to the relay and use that to pull in the contact to energy your light.
