Niagara Custom Module Installation

I’ve been working on my first custom module, but am running into what seems like a dumb issue. Does anyone have good instructions or a resource to read for loading a custom module into Niagara? Instructions on the support site (from the “Your First Custom Module” article) and from the help docs are all outdated.

Options I have already tried and not had success with:

  1. Using the New Module wizard built into Niagara. I did this and then tried to paste my .java file down where it belongs, but can’t get it to compile into a .jar file to load into my modules. This option felt the most hopeful.
  2. Creating all necessary files outside and dragging them into my modules folder. I have a directory with a .palette file and my .java file that I tried to bring in to my modules folder but again, didn’t see an option for .jar creation.

Any help with this would be appreciated (and if it would be easier to talk through, I’m happy to hop on discord sometime and pick someone’s brain on it). Thanks!

Go to the Lynxspring Learning Hub. I have the first 10 videos of a Niagara Developer Series. All your answers are there.
