need to upgrade the Workplace AX system to the latest Niagara 4 version. Is it possible to restore the existing AX backup file directly into Niagara 4?
There could be few steps involved depending on the ax version.
Niagara has a migration tool to update AX3.8 to N4 version. I’ve used it a few times and works fairly well. just have to make sure that your N4 workbench has all the modules that your AX station uses.
If your AX version is below 3.8, you’ll have to update to 3.8, then use the migration tool.
It also depends on which jar files you’ve got in your existing station and if you were using NDIO. There was a migration utility they offered…but as Boba noted, you need to be at 3.8 to use it.

Sorry for the delayed response…traveling for work. You would need to have an instance of AX that is licensed for 3.8 and then to upgrade your station by commissioning it. You also need to make sure you have all the modules that are referenced in your station. Is it a really crazy/complex station? You could always just rebuild it in N4
